Challenge v’s Problem. How do you approach situations or issues that you are required to deal with in your life? Are they a Challenge or a Problem?
The word “Challenge” – a summons to take part in a contest or demanding or difficult task.
The word “Problem” – difficult or doubtful, something hard to understand or accomplish or deal with.
In our life, from the day we are born, the human computer runs absorbing everything it gets exposed to and this programming creates our outlook on life, and as we progress through life, children enter a stage know as the terrible 2′s and are programmed to believe they are a terrible child.
We progress on then we end up at school and there the problems/challenges are exposed on a more regular basis.
It all starts with 1 + 1 = ? The teacher in the front of the room saying “the problem today is 1 + 1″. The brain rebels, deciding it has had enough of these problems and blocks are created, stopping the advancement of any further learning until the block is overcome.
The system persist in trying to drive the brain through this problem but the harder you try the more stubborn the brain becomes. With the understanding of this “problem” you can now look at everything in your life and review the situation.
By changing the word or our thought patten to think of situations as a “challenge“, the brain looks at these in another light and then sets about addressing the challenge. The brain loves a “challenge” however on hearing the word “problem” retreats.
How often in your personal or business life have you come across a situation that you deem as a problem. “It’s to hard”, “I can’t do that”, “It’s a big problem“. We all have, you are not alone.
