2. Goals and Dreams
I am addressing the subject of Goals
What motivates a person? We will not function unless there is something in it for ourselves.
Live closer to your real potential
What are Goals? A goal is just a decision about what you want to do, to be, or have in your life, where you want to go or what you want to do with your life.
Decisions mean change and remember your horse hates change but you are changing all the time.
You can’t stand still ever if your wanted to.
Even when you decide not to do something you made a decision to set a goal.
You are a goal setting machine.
Learning to elevate your goals to a higher level and choose to set goals we methodically sit down and think about instead of just randomly setting goals based on some crisis that brings pressure into our life
Physiology (why) the purpose and meaning to our life, the vision or a goal.
King Solomon said “Where there is no vision, people will perish” our goals should lead us to peace of mind
Goals (is to have)
The 7 steps of setting goals
1) Balanced – Goals need to be balanced. The goals need to take into consideration, Work, Worship, Love and Play. (Life breaks down to 4 areas) and many sub sets. Your goals need to be balanced in these areas.
2) Consistent -Goals need to be consistent with your one major theme. Each goal should lead you to your one major theme
3) Realistic -Not too low as to cause no excitement when you reach your goal and not to high , Should you set your goal to high and not achieve the goal the horse will tell you , you couldn’t do it and you could lose the battle with your horse, then the horse will win and go back to the beaten track. Stealing your dream.
4) Specific as possible - This is so important (for example. Should you want to purchase a motor vehicle, you need to get the details as specific as possible).Colour, make, interior, motor size, take photographs, keep the dream alive, focus board. When you set your dream alive , live it and your old car will be out of place and your horse will start to chase the new car
5) Confidential – Be very selective who you tell your goal to. Life is tough enough as it is share your goals with people who seriously want you to achieve them. Your mum could have your best interests at hand however she could steal your horse unintentionally.
6) Write your goals in the present tense
7) No time limits – Goals are set with no time limits set goals based on end result. Some people need to take 3 to 4 months to get enough experience to run their own business. Time limits create a lot of anxiety, depression or stress and the horse will take over and take you back to the beaten path
6 months from now, people will say how lucky you are.
Luck has nothing to do with it.
Anyone can do the same thing if they just had the formula for success.
