4. Affirmations

By now you see the marvelous potential to have, to do and have anything you want to be as long as it doesn’t violate the principals of truth, justice, understanding and the love for other people

How to write an affirmation, visualize them and screen them on the screen of our mind in such a way as to make them happen in our real word.

What is an affirmation?

An affirmation is just a statement of belief, an affirmation is just words and words by themselves mean nothing, but the right words put together, in the right way form sentences, languages and transference of thoughts.

They cause people to fall in love, and nations to go to war, men to fly to the moon and almost everything else we do, so words trigger images or pictures which bring about human emotion .words trigger your senses

When we write our affirmations we want to involve our sensors as much as possible.

12 rules for affirmations

(1) Write your affirmations in the first person. Making sure you are in the affirmation, don’t be humble; wanting to achieve something for yourself you could say enthusiasm makes a difference. I have to see me doing it

(2) Write them in the present tense.  We don’t live in the past.  A philosophy of life is that yesterday is a spent cheque, tomorrow is a promissory note. Today is ready cash spend it wisely

(3) Write them in a positive way. We want our affirmations to be positive, being positive about something is moving towards it. Being negative is moving away from it.

(4) Write them in a way that indicates achievement

(5) Don’t make comparisons. Instead of saying I am the best in my firm, you might say I do a good job at selling; my sales are very high every month. That way we stay out of the rating game. Remember we are not in competition with anyone but our self. We want to become the best we can

(6) Use as many action words as possible. Verbs are action words

(7) Use as many action or excitement words as possible   words such as excited, bubbling over.

(8) Make them as accurate as you can   this will apply to goals that can be measure

(9) Try to make sure your affirmations are balanced

(10)  Make your affirmations be consistent

(11) Make your affirmations be realistic    Remember we are not looking for perfection. We don’t have to be number one. That only leads to frustration and low frustration tolerance. Allow yourself some margin for error, some room to fall. You just don’t want to fall too far and too often. Failure is a normal process of success, it’s like a new born baby learning to walk, they had to fall many times, and it is one of the natural laws that govern this universe. If every day was good, you would not know it was good. You have to have the bad to appreciate the good

(12) Only involve yourself and not anyone else. Remember you can’t change anyone else. You are the only problem you will ever have and you are your only solution

We don’t do this just by reading our affirmations over and over, there is much more to it than that.

I not only want to see myself doing something, I have to feel myself doing something.

When you picture yourself doing what you want.

You don’t see yourself from a distance; you can’t see yourself at all. You will only see parts of you, however you will see everything around you.

I would see other people getting closer to me as they walk towards me, closer and closer.

You see it as in real life.

You sense you.

You experience you.

You actually see very little of you.

The closer to reality we make it; the closer it is to involve all your emotions.

Remember when the two pictures don’t match, the horse will go to work to fix the picture.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

Great insight Les. I love writing affirmations and this one action has changed my life in a multitude of ways. I also like the 12th rule about only involving ourselves. This is so true!
